This course covers production and demand for healthcare, how the determinants of demand and supply affect the costs of various types of healthcare services, and individual, family, and market investments in health. The field uses the tools from both microeconomics and econometrics to theoretically and empirically examine a number of topics, including the role of health insurance, healthcare in developing countries, and risky behavior.

Prerequisites: Intermediate Microeconomics and Basic Econometrics.

Main instructor of the course is Prague based Eva Hromadkova, Ph.D. while students of the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism, Split will be co-instructed by prof. Lana Kordić from the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism, Split. The classes will be followed in the classroom at the Faculty of Economics, Business and Tourism, Split along with local instructor of the individual course.

Classes will start on April 25 and will last till June 3, 2022.

  • Lectures: Tuesday 8.30-10.00 a.m. CEST, Thursday 8.30-9.15 a.m. CEST.
  • Exercise session: Thursday 9.15-10.00 a.m. CEST.
